The MSC camp theme of the day is “Born to Glorify”. Steve Elkins led our morning flag pole talk and started by asking what asking what Glory means to them.
Webster’s defines it as: To make glorious by bestowing honor, praise or admiration.
The Bible teaches that to Glorify God means to bring Christ glory or radiance to light, to manifest it, to reflect it. When we Glorify God, we are reflecting how awesome He is, just how Amazing He is through our actions and attitudes.
Reflection – We are to be a reflection of God…That’s what brings him Glory.
Is glorifying God something that we only do at Church Service? No, Hopefully not! We should and must be working to bring him honor through the things we say, our actions & thoughts. To glorify God means to acknowledge His glory and to value it above all things. It means we make it known to others. It means we have a heartfelt gratitude. We glorify God through our faith, through our love and through our desire to obey him.
Our lives should bring Glory to God. Isaiah 43:7 teaches us reads “Bring all who claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them.”
We were made to GLORIFY God in all that we do.
John 17:4-5: I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the Glory which I had with You before the world was.
