Compadre, Vincent Landfair, led the campers in this mornings devotion and pledge of allegiance to the flag.
Today’s theme is “Worthier than Thor.” Vincent asked the campers if they knew who Thor was. They all knew that he was a superhero with a special hammer and power of lightning. While Thor is worthy in the eyes of men, who are we suppose to be worthy to? Vincent read Ephesians 4:1 and 2 to detail that the things we see in this verse make us worthy unto God (lowliness, longsuffering, gentleness, bearing with one another in love). During camp, we see a lot of opportunities to try these things. There is no better time than now to be gentle, patient, show love, even to your enemies! The Lord is watching how we act. In Philippians 1:27, the Lord sees us always and he is seeing us all striving towards one goal…..that’s what makes camp so great! This is the time to be worthy to the Lord because as you see in this verse he is always watching our conduct. So today if you follow these steps then you can say and others can see that you are worthier than Thor.
