To help all the campers (especially the first-time Sr. Campers) to better learn the songs we’ll be singing throughout this week, Compadre Kevin Colvin and his father Kevin L. Colvin held a song workshop for all of the campers today, two teams at a time. Each camper spent an entire hour studying the meaning of the following songs and learning how to sing each:
“Blindman”
“Lord, I Lift Your Name on High”
“He Is Wonderful”
“Majesty”
“Thy Word”
“On Bended Knee”
“Someday”
“Listen to Our Hearts”
“Sanctuary”
“You Are My All in All”
“You Are the Words and the Music”
“We Shall Assemble”
“I Stand in Awe”
“Jesus, Let Us Come”
“Light the Fire”
“Faithful Love”
“Lord Be There”
“Pierce My Ear”
“Mountain Song”
“Oh Fill My Cup!”
“Unto Thee, O Lord”
“Alleluia”
“Hosanna”
“Humble Yourselves”
“I’ve Been Redeemed”
“Just For Today”
“Teach Me Lord”

I love this idea. It is so important to know the meaning of the songs and I don’t feel we stress this enough sometimes.
this makes me smile:-) wish I was there to learn too as I am a new Christian and don’t know all of these songs but the few that I do know I love and I know my kids love the camp songs!
Awesome! The Colvin “boys” will be great! Great idea!
As a previous camper, this is a fantastic idea! Its so easy to forget lyrics, and its hard for new campers to learn so many songs. The idea of making sure everyone knows the meanings behind the songs is great too, because its so easy to just sing the words and not really think about what you are saying.
Absolutely wonderful idea! Thanks Kevin and his dad for doing this for them.
I love this idea and look forward to my daughters teaching me a few songs I don’t know from this list.
