Compadre Nick Hall introduced our theme of the day, “Blessed: Family,” to the campers today during his flagpole devotion:
We have a great support system at camp. A younger person finds it difficult, and virtually impossible to break a rubber wristband, but an older, stronger person can break the wristband much easier. We must realize that we can break when we are tempted and we don’t have a support system. It is much harder to break when we are banded together with others.
“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” — I Thessalonians 5:11
We should rely and lean on one another when we are broken. Be the person you should be so you can help others when they are in need.
“If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.” — Philippians 2:1-4
“Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.” — Romans 12:15
We should be a family for each other.
